Buyer beware:

Positives:
1) At least he outlines his indicators for entering a trend.
2) Easy to read

Negatives:
1) As any seasoned trader knows, managing the trade after entry is every bit as important as the entry. What's Barry's strategy for trade management? A percentage trailing stop...unprofessional and another strike against the 'sellers' of the industry.
2) He tucked 12 books into one. He could have written the meat of the book in two chapters.
3) Most important!!! I coded the system using multiple data streams and all 5 indicators into easylanguage and it's not profitable.

I did take Topdog courses, the book added to my understanding. I would suggest that before the next printing you review the charts. Some notes on charts say the opposite of what is meant. One chart did not show all that was being explained. Because I took the course I understood what was happening, but for somebody who has not this could be confusing.

I own a number of Barry's courses and think they are a great resource for learning how to make a consistent profit trading the financial markets.

This book takes a very superficial look at Barry's approach, methods and system for trend trading. The book suffers from "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing". One really needs a complete understanding of his approach and specific methods to make consistent profits.

As a taster it's fine, however you get what you pay for. So if you're serious about wanting to trade profitably then go and buy his full course. It's a worthwhile investment

Gets dense but a pioneering book worth reading

Maynard A. Amerine was a professor of enology at the University of California Davis and Edward B. Roessler was a professor of mathematics. Both are experienced wine judges and between the two of them, had over a century of experience. This is a pioneering work on the sensory evaluation of wine. The first half of the book covers wines and their sensory evaluation covering the qualities of wine and their interaction with the senses of vision, odor, taste, touch, and pain. They cover various physiological and psychological factors that can impact our sensory responses and discuss various issues concerning the sensory evaluation of wine. The second half of the book covers statistical procedures and will probably intimidate all but the most obsessive reader. The information in the first half more than makes up for the denseness of the second half. I enjoyed the book and found it useful.

The Technical Side of Tasting

I bought the "enlarged and revised" edition of this book in 1983. I have several books on wine, but this is one of the most technical. If you're comfortable with the mathematics of statistical analysis, you'll feel right at home. There are pages of formulae and charts. The authors attempt to bring greater precision to otherwise murky terms that are often used in wine tastings, e.g. "Buttery: used for an odor from malolactic fermentation. Possibly diacetyl is meant? If so, use it." This book is most useful for professional wine tasters and judges. Those who belong to tasting clubs or give medals at county fairs may not follow its rigorous approach, but it is enlightening.
